Crestwood Hills is a mid-century modern neighborhood set on ridges above Kenter Canyon in Brentwood, developed in the late 1940s as a cooperative housing venture originally known as the Mutual Housing Tract. Homes were designed by architect A. Quincy Jones for an association of about 400 member households, and several residences have since been designated California architectural landmarks. The community, which includes a park and a cooperative preschool under its homeowners' association, lost 49 homes to the 1961 Brentwood-Bel-Air fire and has been substantially rebuilt over the decades since.
